About us

ST. JOSEPH'S AID SOCIETY

“What would happen if you could provide circumstances and conditions for children from needy families to reach their potential? That was the question in the mind of the founder, Fr. Kasole, and it is what we have been answering for the past half-century, and it continues to motivate our mission to this day.”

St. Joseph’s Aid Society is a non-profit organization founded by Fr. Rochus David Kasole (1941-2007), in 1966, with the aim of providing good education to Ugandan children who are orphans, those born of very poor parents or who were neglected by their parents. He envisioned the possibility of giving these children a bright future.

St. Joseph’s Aid Society believes as our founder did, more than fifty years ago, that every child deserves a future that is grounded on prayer,  hard work, intellectual excellence, and good morals. We believe that all these things should be achievable without regard to race, tribe, religion, or background.

From a child grieving the loss of dear parents, another whose proper growth is threatened by domestic violence to the other coming from a financially constrained family, St. Josephs Aid Society offers hope. But we offer hope more than just an abstract concept. We substantiate it with programs and solutions grounded in our deep experience and charisma.

OUR FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

We take care of orphans but not exclusively. We are an organization that cares of three categories of children: Orphans, neglected non-orphans, and underprivileged. We are not a registered orphanage for we are not entirely caring for orphans and are thus not regulated by the Orphanage Law.

St. Joseph’s Aid Society was established by a catholic priest of Kampala Archdiocese and religious nuns of Immaculate Heart of Mary Reparatrix and maintains that Catholic heritage and foundation. We, however, care for all children of all religious denominations and help them to grow stronger in their various faith affiliations.

Our children do not present any monetary fees. At their arrival, they are required to pray to pray and pray. They engage in various devotions, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, the Holy Mass, and several spiritual exercises. In this way, our benefactors are empowered, finances are obtained and all community activities flow successfuly.

We are in urgent need of funds to run the programs. Our farming projects are not performing very well due to shortage of funds. Money is needed to pay teachers, gardeners, and other workers. We need to pay water and electricity bills and most of our buildings are dilapidated. You can make a donation of money directly to our bank account or using the VISA provision on this website. You can also make donations of items according to our needs. We need scholastic materials, toiletries, personal care products, drugs for the infirmary, and food. Contact us via e-mail or call us. We shall be grateful. Please support our sick bay and infirmary. We need drugs and funds to support the health workers.
